Solid Plastering

Skimming

Plaster skimming is the standard method of providing a smooth, seamless surface finish in preperation for walls and ceilings to receive decorative paint or wallpaper covering.

Plaster can be applied to walls or ceilings, on backgrounds such as artex, existing plaster, plasterboard and standard backing coat

Float and Set

Float and set is the application of a backing coat of a product such as bonding or browning, before applying the finish coat when set.

This method is commonly used in renovation work, on surfaces which are not suitable to receive a finish coat alone.

Boarding / Dot & Dab

Dot and dab is a popular method to quickly provide a good background surface before the application of finish to walls.

Boarding is predominantly used for ceilings or stud walls.

Rendering

External Wall Insulation

Most effectively used on solid wall properties in order to insulate, modernise and ultimately reduce heat loss and save you money.

Finishes include, coloured render, brick effect, brick slips, dashing.

Acrilic/Silicone Texture

A coloured render used on thin coat external wall insulation or render only systems.

It gives you the option of multiple colours and is widely used on social housing commercial sites.

Base/Level Coat

A modern One Coat Render, replacing cement lime and sand or used in a thin coat external wall insulation system using fibre glass mesh in one of two coats.

Brick Effect

Brick effect render is applied in two coats. Firstly a wet coloured base coat is applied followed by a complimentary coloured wet top coat.

The top coat is then cut through to expose the base coat ‘mortar’ layer, thus creating the brick effect finish.

Through Coloured Render

Coloured render is commonly refered to as scratch render or monocuche. It is a modern, maintenance free way of updating any property.

It is popular on both commercial and residential property due to its waterproof, breathable, long lasting qualities.

Damp Proofing

Chemical Injection

This is the removal off all damp internal plaster usually to 1.2 meters in height (can be higher dependent on circumstances), followed by the injection of a chemical damp proof course in the brickwork, to eliminate the threat of rising damp.

On completion of the chemical injection the wall can then be rendered and skimmed internally.

Waterproof Membrane

The installation of a waterproof membrane, has been shown to be the most reliable way to damp proof a property. Damp proof membranes can be applied with little or no surface preparation, internally and externally. The damp proof membranes come in different forms depending on use, with smooth surface membranes suitable for floor screed, and mesh membranes suitable for plaster and render finishes.
